Create a patient waitlist based on a combination of appointment visit type and service
territory. We recommend you create a waitlist before you configure and activate the Patient
Waitlist flows. Doing so avoids a scenario where the Start Waitlist Management flow is triggered
but there’s no waitlist available.

You can create multiple waitlists for your organization. The flow searches for the first
matching waitlist participant across all waitlists.
Note You can also create a waitlist via the Waitlist Management Settings in Setup.
From the App Launcher, find and select Waitlists.
Click New.
Enter a name for the waitlist.
Select a service territory. You can only assign one service territory to a waitlist.
Optionally, enter a description for the waitlist.
Leave Destination URL blank and keep the Enable self check in option blank. These settings
don’t apply to patient waitlists.
Click Next.
Select at least one visit type (work type) for this waitlist. The available visit types
have an appointment category with Regular and Drop In selected. You can create one waitlist per
service territory and appointment visit type combination.
Click Next.
Select at least one service resource for this waitlist. You can only assign service
resources that have the selected service territory as their primary territory.
Click Next.
Click Finish. The waitlist record is created and the related
waitlist work type and waitlist service resources are automatically created.
To mark the waitlist as active, open the record and select Active, then save your
changes.
Select the Related tab to view the work types and service resources related to the
waitlist, and add waitlist participants. It’s not necessary to select Available for waitlist
service resources as this option isn't relevant for waitlist appointments.
