          For example, an epidemiologist can use the Epidemiological Insights dashboard to spot case spikes and analyze demographics and geographic trends for targeted public health responses. Compare data with case volume trends to confirm outbreaks. Mobilize targeted responses, such as resource allocation or alerts, to contain spread and manage public health.

          Metric Description
          Total Cases Shows the total count of reported disease occurrences. Use this metric to assess the overall magnitude and scope of the outbreak immediately.
          Lab Confirmation Rate Shows the percentage of reported cases verified by laboratory testing. Use this metric to evaluate the reliability and quality of your surveillance data.
          Case Fatality Rates Shows the percentage of reported cases resulting in death. Use this metric to determine the severity and lethality of the disease for risk assessment.
          Hospitalizations Shows the number of people hospitalized for the disease. Use this metric to see if the health care facilities are reaching their capacity limits.
          Total Deaths Shows the total number of deaths. Use this metric to measure the overall impact and effectiveness.
          Case Count by State Shows the geographical spread of the disease. Use this metric to find and focus on regional hotspots.
          Case Volume Trend Shows how fast new cases are changing. Use this metric to identify jumps or drops that means that the outbreak is entering a new phase.
          Epidemic Curve Shows when the cases started. Use this metric to find the outbreak source, speed, and peak time.
          Reported Symptoms Shows the most common clinical signs, to aid early diagnosis.
          Cases by Age and Gender Shows case distribution by age and sex. Use this metric to guide clinical and policy decisions.
