Administer Medications to Patients During Home Visits
As a clinician, improve patient safety, medication adherence, and health outcomes by
administering medication effectively. When a patient’s care service routine requires you to
administer medication, you see the task listed under the home visit in the Field Service Mobile
app. Use the app to specify the medication details and track the task completion for future
reference.

the Home Health Add-on license
User Permissions Needed
To administer medications:
Home Health Clinician
Prerequisite: You must have the Field Service mobile app installed on your device. The tab,
work plan, and work step names depend on how your Salesforce admin configures your org and
mobile app. Reach out to your Salesforce admin if you need help.
Open the Field Service mobile app.
Tap a visit on the Schedule tab and see its details.
Under Work Plans, select the medication administration work step and review the
details.
Tap the flow action icon of the medication administration work step.
Select the medication to administer.
Enter the dosage details, start date, and end date.
Enter additional instructions for the medication.
Tap Next.
The status of the medication administration step changes to Completed. Home
Health creates the medication administration and patient medication dosage records in the
background.
