          Review Your Patient’s Home Visit Requests

          As a scheduler, use Home Health to speed up and streamline the review and approval process of your patient’s home visit requests. You can approve or reject your patient’s requests and then schedule, reschedule, or cancel their visits. With most of the visit information available in the patient request, you can save the time and effort involved in collecting such details manually.

          To review patient requests: Manage Home Health

          You can approve or reject requests from the Visit Requests tab on the patient record page. However, the location of the user interface could vary depending on your org's configuration.

          1. In the App Launcher, find and select Home Health.
          2. Go to the Accounts tab and open the patient’s record page.
          3. Go to the Visit Requests tab.
          4. Review the patient’s requests under the Schedule, Reschedule, and Cancel tabs. Make sure you review any additional comments that your patient has added to the request.
            By default, you can see only the requests with the Submitted status. Use the Filter option to see requests with the Approved or Rejected status or to search for a particular request.
          5. To approve a schedule request, select the request, click the Actions button, and then select Approve.
            The status of the request changes to Approved and your patient receives a notification. Home Health triggers the Schedule Home Healthcare Visit flow to schedule the visit using the details in the patient’s request. You can update the visit details, if necessary.
            Note
            Note You can only approve a single schedule request at a time.
          6. To approve a reschedule request, select the request, click the Actions button, and then select Approve.
            The status of the request changes to Approved. Home Health triggers the Reschedule Home Healthcare Visit flow to reschedule the visit using the details in the patient’s request. You can update the visit details, if necessary.

            Note You can only approve a single reschedule request at a time.
          7. To approve a cancel request:
            • Select the request, click the Actions button, and then select Approve.

              The Approve request window appears.

            • Click Approve.

              The status of the request changes to Approved and your patient receives a notification.

            Note To approve multiple cancel requests at the same time, select the requests, and click Approve.

            If you cancel one of the dependent visits, Home Health cancels the other visit as well. And, if you cancel a visit that’s part of a group visit, Home Health cancels the visit and removes it from the group. There are no other changes to the group visit.

          8. To reject a schedule, reschedule, or cancel request:
            • Select the request, click the Actions button, and then select Reject.

              The Reject request window appears.

            • Enter your reason for rejecting the request and click Reject.

              The status of the request changes to Rejected and your patient receives a notification.

            Note
            Note To reject multiple requests at the same time, select the requests, and click Reject.
            It’s as simple as that. Now, your patients can see the new and updated visits in their patient portal.

          If you want to view a list of requests submitted by all patients, find and select Home Health in the App Launcher, go to the Party Appointment Requests tab, and open the Submitted Patient Requests list view.
