Schedule Visits with Home Health
Schedulers can schedule visits for their patients by using the New Home Visit button on the patient’s record page. You can schedule a start-of-care visit for an initial assessment, or a set of recurring visits in bulk for the service you’re providing.

The location of the user interface where you can schedule visits depends on how your Salesforce admin configures your org. If you can’t find the user interface, ask your Salesforce admin for help.
- In the App Launcher, find and select Home Health.
- Go to the Accounts tab and open the patient’s record page.
- Click New Home Visit.

Select a visit type.
If you select Recurring Visit and if the patient has an active member plan and an eligible coverage benefit for home visits, a message confirming the same appears.
- Select a region.
- Select the scheduling policy for the visit. If you don’t know which scheduling policy to use, ask your Salesforce admin for help.
- Select the service request for the visit.
- Select the skills required for the visit.
- Indicate whether authorization is required for the visit.

Specify how you want to assign care resources to the visit.
- Select Auto to assign resources per the scheduling policy and the scheduling job.
- Select Manual to view a list of recommendations for care resources and available time intervals. You can then select the most suitable resource from the recommendation.
- Click Next.

To use an address other than the default shipping address for the visit, do one of the
following:
- Select the required address from the list.
- If you can't find the required address, select Add New Address, and enter the details. You can also save the new location as a contact point address for the patient.

Select the visit date and visit time.
- If you know the specific scheduling time for the visit, select Exact Time Slot from the Scheduling Preference field and use the Start Time and End Time fields.
- If you know the time slots that the patient is open to a visit, select Operating Hours from the Scheduling Preference field.
Note You can manually assign resources to recurring visits only if the Shift Preference is set to Operating Hours. - If you’re scheduling recurring visits, enter the number of recurring visits required in the Visits Required field.

If you’re scheduling recurring visits, specify how often the visits should recur.
- In the Visit Frequency field, select either Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- If you selected Daily, choose how many days apart the visit should repeat, and then specify either an end date or the number of occurrences.
- If you selected Weekly, choose how many weeks apart the visit should repeat. Select the days of the week for the visits, and then specify either an end date or the number of occurrences.
- If you selected Monthly, choose how many months apart the visit should repeat. Specify the date or a week and day of the month. Finally, specify either an end date or the number of occurrences.

Add instructions for the home visit.
- Select Add visit instructions and click Next.
- In Work Plan Template Details, search for and select the required work plan templates.
- In Work Step Details, review the list of steps for the selected templates.
- To add custom instructions, in Visit Instructions, select Add Template, and enter the template name and the visit instructions.
- In the New Home Visit Summary page, review the visit details.

Depending on the type of resource assignment, do one of the following:
- For auto assignment, click Schedule Visits.
The visit assignment happens in the background and you receive an in-app notification when it’s done.
- For manual assignment, click Next, and then review the
visit details. Select a recommended option for care resource, and then click
Assign.
Home Health assigns the selected care resource to the home visit. You receive an in-app notification confirming the resource assignment.
Note: If you close the New Home Visit window just before the manual scheduling is complete, the visit scheduling process fails and Home Health creates visits of Canceled status. You need to schedule the visits again.
- For auto assignment, click Schedule Visits.
