Add Medications by Using the Add Basic Medication Details Flow
Use the single-step Add Basic Medication Details flow to quickly add medications for
your patients. The flow is integrated with RxNorm, so you can easily find and select the right
branded or generic medication. And if you need to add detailed information about a medication,
you can do so later on the medication record.

Go to the patient’s person account record.
Click Add Medication on the Medication List tab of Patient
Medication Manager.
If you don't see the Patient Medication Manager component, ask your admin to configure
it.
The Add Basic Medication Details flow is triggered.
Note If you aren’t sure if
your admin has configured the Add Basic Medication Details flow for your org, contact
your admin for confirmation.
Enter the name of the medication or an ingredient in the medication to add, and then
select it from the search result.
Select the brand name medication or generic medication and click

That’s it! You see the medication in the list view of the component. If the medication
