Assign the Permissions Required to Sync Provider Search Data

Provider Search uses a Data Processing Engine definition to create and refresh data in Care Provider Searchable Field records. To ensure that the definition runs smoothly, assign the required field access to the Analytics Cloud integration and system administrator users.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud or Life Sciences Cloud

          User Permissions Needed
To use Data Processing Engine: Data Pipelines Base User permission set
To enable Data Pipelines: Customize Application user permission
To edit field level access on provider management Health Cloud Objects Health Cloud Foundation permission set

Health Cloud uses the Data Processing Engine to convert provider search data into a searchable format, so that users can quickly and easily find provider data. The process moves the source data to a searchable object called Care Provider Searchable Field. When you enable Provider Search, Salesforce creates the Data Processing Engine definition and an Analytics Cloud Integration user

The Data Processing Engine fails if someone changes field level security on any existing provider search field or adds a custom field and doesn’t grant Read access to the system administrator and Analytics Cloud Integration user.

To troubleshoot issues with provider search, verify that required permissions are assigned.

          1. Verify that the FHIR Data Model is enabled. The FHIR Data Model gives Read access to fields that aren’t accessible through the user interface. To verify the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) R4-aligned clinical data model for Health Cloud is enabled in your org, search for and then select FHIR R4 Support Settings under Health Cloud in Setup. If the FHIR-Aligned Data Model setting is not enabled for your org, enable it now.
          2. Assign the Health Cloud Provider Search Fields Access permission set to the Analytics Cloud Integration user (User, Integration), the system administrator (User, System), and other users who customize the standard Provider Search Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition.
The permission set gives users Read access to Provider Search objects and fields used in the Data Processing Engine definition. To understand which objects and fields are used, view the permission set.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Permission Sets.
            2. Click Health Cloud Provider Search Fields Access.
            3. Click Object Settings.
            4. Click an object name, and then view object permissions and field permissions.
          3. If you create custom fields to run provider searches. verify that the Analytics Cloud Integration user and system administrator have Read access to custom fields used in provider search.
