Add a Patient to a Waitlist

Add a Patient to a Waitlist

Add patients to a waitlist so that they can receive appointment invitations for canceled service appointments. You can add patients to a waitlist from the Waitlist Participants page or from a waitlist’s Related tab. Ensure patients have the correct permissions to respond to waitlist appointment invitations in your self-scheduling portal.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Waitlist Participants.
          2. Click New.
          3. In Participant, find and select a patient account.
          4. In Waitlist, select a waitlist.
          5. Leave Status as Unassigned. The Start Waitlist Management flow uses the Unassigned status to determine which patient from the waitlist receives an appointment invitation.
          6. Optionally, add a work type and service resource. You’re required to enter a work type and service resource for the waitlist record. If you enter them for the waitlist participant, they must match the selected waitlist.
          7. Optionally, select an existing service appointment scheduled for the patient.
          8. Save your changes. The patient is now on the waitlist.
          9. Assign waitlist patients to the profile.
            1. From the patient’s person account record, click Enable Customer User.
            2. In Profile, select the profile that gives patients access to Waitlist Management.
            3. Make sure the user has an email address.
            4. Select Generate new password and notify user immediately.
            5. Save your changes.

The patient can change their password and use their account to log into the self-scheduling portal and accept or decline waitlist appointment invitations.
