Reinstate an Insurance Policy

Restore a canceled policy to active status and generate financial transactions for billing.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions where Insurance Brokerage is enabled

Ensure that:

  • The insurance policy is in the Cancelled stage
  • Insurance Policy Transaction and Transaction Detail generation are enabled
  • Billing configuration is defined, including Bill To Account and Contact.
  1. Open the original (mother) policy that contains the canceled version.
  2. Click Reinstate.
  3. Enter a reinstatement date.
  4. Save your changes.
  • A new policy version is created using the last canceled version
  • The policy, including all associated components, resumes from the reinstatement date to the original policy end date
  • Premiums, fees, and taxes are prorated for the reinstated period
  • A reinstatement transaction and corresponding transaction details are generated
