          Product Attributes in Product Specs

Product attributes are key pieces of the whole Vlocity Insurance and Vlocity Health platform. They define coverages, insured items, and other parts of insurance products and health plans. They correspond to anything that's important to quoting, rating, and writing an insurance policy. Attributes include inputs to rating (pricing), and characteristics that define claims.

For example, a car's make, model, and year are three things that define a car as an insured item and affect the rating of an auto insurance policy. So autoMake, autoModel, and autoYear can be attributes used in any auto insurance product.

In health and life insurance, the rating is impacted by the age, gender, and marital status of the person being insured. So personAge, personGender, and maritalStatus can be attributes used by health and life insurance plans/products.

          • Attributes in Context
Insurance products and health plans you sell are made up of collections of attributes. Coverage specs, insured item specs, insured party specs, and rating fact specs are all comprised of lists of attributes. Attributes also attach to root product specs. Vlocity uses the values of attributes that users input to rate out insurance products and health plans.
          • Create Attribute Categories
Attribute categories make it easy for users to find and use the right attributes when they create product specs.
          • Create Attributes

          • Create Power Attributes
Use power attributes to track limits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out of pocket maximums. Create power attributes the same way you create regular attributes, in the same attribute categories, and then complete some extra configuration steps.
