Workflow for Creating Child Specs with Attributes

After you weigh different options and decide on a plan for child specs, their attributes, and which child specs go with each root product, you're ready to build your child specs.

          1. Create Child Specs

          2. Add Attributes to a Child Spec

          3. Add the Push Attribute Action to the Product Page

          4. Update Child Specs

          • Create Child Specs
Child specs are key building blocks for your product models. They're components of the root product specs that Insurance rates, quotes, sells, and administers for your customers.
          • Add Attributes to a Child Spec
Most child specs include at least one attribute. When you add attributes to a child spec, you also configure them with controls and values.
          • Add the Push Attribute Action to the Product Page
If you update a child spec, you can use the Push Attribute action to push your changes out to the instances of the child spec in other products.
          • Update Child Specs
Over time, you can tweak your child specs. After you make changes to the attributes and attribute values in a child spec, use the Push Attribute action to push those changes out to the instances of the child spec in other products.
