Using Medication Review
Health Cloud offers Medication Review as a lightning component on Person Account record pages that your admin must configure for you. This component has built-in flows that are integrated with RxNorm, making it easier for you to reduce errors while recording medication-related data. Your admin can also provide custom flows to fit your specific work patterns.
Patient Medication Manager
The Patient Medication Manager lightning component gives you a comprehensive list view of all the medications associated with a patient. This list view makes it easier for your trained eye to spot conflicting medications, which in turn helps you reduce medication-related errors for patients. When a medication in this list is selected, you view all the relevant details for that medication in one place, such as medication request, medication dispense, patient dosage, and medication statements. Viewing all this information together enables you to easily review and update medications without navigating through multiple records and objects.
RxNorm Integration
The Add Patient Medication flow in the Patient Medication Manager lightning component is integrated with RxNorm to bring in standardized medication data from the U.S. National Library of Medicine. You just have to search for a medication based on its name or ingredients, select a medication from the results, and then enter the patient-specific prescription. Our flow takes care of everything else behind the scenes, like creating different types of records and saving medication-specific details from RxNorm. This flow reduces the amount of information you have to manually enter, thus reducing medication-related errors caused by unintended typing errors.
You can also use the Add Basic Medication Details flow, a simplified version of the Add Patient Medication flow, to quickly add multiple medications to your patients. With this single-step flow, you can simply select a branded or generic medication and add it to a patient. There's no urgency to update the medication details right away, as you can check back later to add the remaining information.
