Users need both a permission set license and permission sets to work in Net Zero Cloud. Assign permission sets for users to access Net Zero Cloud objects and fields, custom metadata, and other app and system settings. Net Zero Cloud permission sets are included with Net Zero Cloud permission set license. These permission sets extend the functionality of a Salesforce user license and provide access to particular features and tools. If you have questions about the permission sets in your org, contact your Salesforce account executive.
Object permissions specify the base-level access that users have to create, read, and edit records for each Net Zero Cloud object.
You can manage object permissions in profiles, permission sets, roles, organization-wide defaults, or sharing rules. To modify object access and settings of a permission set, you must first clone it.

Determine Permission Sets to Assign
Assign permission sets to users based on their profiles.
A Salesforce admin with the Net Zero Cloud Manager permission set or the Net Zero Cloud Admin permission set has full access to all Net Zero Cloud objects and features, such as assigning permissions to users, turning on Net Zero Cloud features, and configuring Net Zero Cloud automation.
A Salesforce user with the Net Zero Cloud Manager permission set can manage the records that they created, but they can’t view or modify the records created by other users unless given access in a cloned permission set. They can access Net Zero Cloud objects, such as assets, emissions factors, and energy use. We recommend that you grant this access to a sustainability manager so that they can set and track your organization’s environmental goals.
A Salesforce user with the Net Zero Cloud Admin permission set can access Setup and turn on a subset of Net Zero Cloud features, configure Net Zero record types, load reference data, and configure Net Zero Cloud automation. This user can’t access or update the settings related to CRM Analytics features, which require additional NZC Analytics Admin and CRM Analytics+ Admin permission sets. We recommend that you grant this access to a sustainability manager who sets and tracks your organization’s environmental goals and also loads reference data, uploads business metrics, and configures feature access in Setup.
A Salesforce Platform user with the Net Zero Cloud Light permission set has full access to carbon, energy, water, and waste data entry and can view and manage carbon footprints. They can’t view and manage SBTi targets, inventories, data processing engine jobs, forecasts, and any supplier-related information. We recommend that you grant this access to a facility manager who enters and manages the energy use data of their facility for your company's carbon accounting records. They can enter energy use data by using individual records, spreadsheets, or CSV upload.
A Salesforce user with the Net Zero Cloud Auditor permission set has the most limited access. They can view only the records created by other users and most objects such as energy use. We recommend that you grant this access to a sustainability auditor so that they can validate the energy consumption and carbon footprint information and view the embedded dashboards.
