Create an App to Predict Carbon Emissions from Supply Chain Activities
Create an app by using the Prediction of Supply Chain Emissions template to get the
prediction of supply chain emissions for a future year. The predictions are based on scope 3
procurement items, procurement emissions factor set items, your company’s growth factors, and
USEEIO categories and the corresponding company growth factors.

In Analytics Studio, click Create, and then select
App.
Select the Prediction of Supply Chain Emissions template.
Review the preview page, and then click Continue.
Choose whether you want to create an app or to copy the settings from an existing app, and
then click Continue.
Analytics runs a compatibility check of the data in Salesforce. If the data is not
compatible, an error message is shown. Follow the instructions in the message to resolve the
issues, and then try to create the app again.
When the compatibility check completes successfully, click Looks good,
next.
Select a year with scope 3 emissions data for various USEEIO categories, to be used as a
baseline to predict supply chain emissions.
The growth factor data in the baseline year is used to forecast supply chain emissions
for a future year.
Select the dataset containing your company’s growth factors.
Uploading the CSV file with your company’s growth factors generates this dataset. If you
use a connector to sync this data, select the dataset generated by the app created by using the
External Data to Predict Supply Chain Emissions template.
Select the dataset containing USEEIO categories and the corresponding company growth
factors.

Click Looks good, next.
Enter a name for the app, and then click Create.
Creating the app takes a few minutes.
When the process is completed, refresh the page.
The app runs a preconfigured recipe to generate the predicted emissions data.
To view the generated datasets, go to the DATASETS tab.
