An emissions forecast set contains information necessary to generate the emissions forecast for an account and considers dimensions, frequencies, and measures. The emissions forecast for an account is generated based on its business measures, such as revenue or employee count, and the actual emissions data from previous years.
To generate the emissions forecast set, enable the Manage Carbon Emissions Forecast setting. For more information, see Enable Net Zero Cloud Features.
Enabling the Manage Carbon Emissions Forecast setting generates:
-
A sample emissions forecast set, which contains seeded information for emissions forecasts. To view the sample emissions forecast set, go to Setup, in Feature Settings, under Manufacturing, select Advance Account Forecasting.
The sample emissions forecast set includes:
-
Forecast set details, which include information such as dimensions, measures, and measure groups.
-
Dimensions, which include a hierarchical arrangement of emissions activities:
-
The lowest level of emissions activities has assets and activities that generate emissions, such as Scope 3 Business Travel.
-
The mid level is the scope category to which a lowest level emissions activity belongs, such as Scope 3.
-
The top level, All Emissions, which represents the total emissions for the account.
For a complete list of emissions activities, see Emissions Activities and Their Emissions Scope Categories.
-
-
Period Group, which includes prepopulated periods for which forecasts are generated. You can’t modify the forecast frequency period, which is set as Year. By default, forecasts are generated for 15 years in the future, and from 7 years in the past.
If necessary, you can modify the seeded value in the sample emissions forecast set. See Set Up Forecast Periods.
-
-
Seeded emissions activities, which are mapped to emission generating activities and the greenhouse gas categories that are used to aggregate emissions for these activities.
