Set Up the Benefit Recertification Flow
Enable constituents to recertify for benefits on your Experience Cloud site. Show them benefits that are pending recertification and give them a guided flow to review the information that they previously provided, confirm or update details, upload supporting documents, and submit their recertification application.

After constituents start to receive benefits, changed circumstances or revised eligibility criteria can affect their benefit eligibility. To redetermine their eligibility at regular intervals and update their benefit amounts, have constituents recertify for benefits on your benefit assistance site. Public Sector Solutions provides a streamlined recertification process that includes these steps.
- Define how frequently constituents must recertify for a benefit.

Run batch jobs regularly to identify the benefit assignments that are due for recertification.
Public Sector Solutions includes template Data Processing Engine definitions for the batch jobs. Customize and run the definitions as required.

On your Experience Cloud site, show constituents benefit assignments that are due for recertification.
The Benefit Assistance Experience Cloud site template includes a Pending Recertification list view that shows benefit assignments that are due for recertification. The list view appears on the Benefits page.

Set up a guided flow for constituents to use to apply for recertification.
The Benefit Assistance Experience Cloud site template provides a Recertify action for each benefit assignment in the Pending Recertification list view. To start the guided flow, constituents use the Recertify action.
Constituents use the benefit recertification guided flow to:
- Confirm or update household details.
- Confirm or update household income information.
- Upload supporting documents.
- Preview and submit the application.
The flow creates an individual application that captures the details of their circumstances. Review the submitted application, determine their benefit or service eligibility, and adjust the benefits or services assigned.
The benefit recertification flow uses Omnistudio and Discovery Framework components. Before you set up the flow, ensure that you’ve set up the benefit application intake flow. Then, customize the components of the benefit recertification flow for your benefit programs and activate them.

Before you set up the benefit recertification guided flow in Public Sector Solutions, complete the prerequisites. - Define Recertification Timelines for a Benefit
Specify the frequency at which constituents must recertify for a benefit, and indicate when a constituent can recertify for the benefit as the due date approaches. - Update Benefit Assignments for Recertification
Update the recertification due date and the recertification status of benefit assignments based on the recertification timelines that you defined for the benefits. Clone and activate the Data Processing Engine definitions that Public Sector Solutions provides to update benefit assignments, and then create flows to run the definitions regularly. - Update the Recertification Status When an Application Is in Review
When a recertification application is in review, update the recertification status of the related benefit assignment to In Progress. Define a custom platform event that indicates that a recertification application is in review, and configure an event handler that updates the recertification status of the related benefit assignment when the platform event is published. Subscribe to the platform event by using an Apex trigger. - Update the Apex Trigger to Screen Recertification Applications
Update the Apex trigger that runs when an individual application record of the category Benefit is created. Configure the trigger to publish a BMRecertEvent when a recertification application passes the screening and is in review. The event handler for BMRecertEvent updates the recertification status of the benefit assignment related to the application. - Activate the Benefit Recertification Integration Procedures
Activate the Integration Procedure that the recertification application Omniscript uses when an incomplete application is returned to a constituent. Then, activate the Integration Procedures that the recertification flow uses to add, fetch, or update information. - Activate the Benefit Recertification Flow Omniscripts
Activate the Omniscripts that constituents use to recertify for a benefit. - Configure the Benefit Recertification Flow Available to Constituents
The Benefit Recertification Flow custom setting determines the Omniscript guided flow that’s available to constituents on your benefit assistance site when they use the Recertify action in the Pending Recertification list view. Update the custom setting and specify the type, subtype, and name of the Omniscript.
