Classify Occupations and Positions
Use the Talent Recruitment Management data model to streamline how you classify occupations and positions in your organization. For a position, specify the competency and qualification requirements to efficiently identify the qualified candidates and ensure compliance.
Required Editions
The Talent Recruitment Management data model includes objects for you to capture information about the competencies, occupation groups, occupations, positions, pay grades, and qualifications, and define the relationships between them.

| Pay Grade | A pay band or salary range for a set of positions that have similar responsibilities and require similar competencies. | The US federal government classifies positions into the grades (GS1 to GS15) in the General Schedule. |
| Pay Grade Step | A pay increase within a pay grade. | Each grade in the General Schedule has approximately ten steps. Each step represents a 3% increase in pay. |
| Pay Grade Step Location | A pay increase within a pay grade that applies to a particular location. | Pay steps can vary from one region to another to match the differences in cost of living. |
| Job Position | A specific instance of a position in your organization held by an individual employee. | A Financial Auditor in the Public Welfare department. |

Review the Talent Recruitment Management data model and the fields on the objects in the data model. Create custom objects or fields to capture additional information.
