          Set Up an Approval Process for Recruitment Postings

          Create an approval process for recruiters to get recruitment postings reviewed and approved by hiring managers. Define the sequence of steps in the approval process. Automatically update a recruitment posting’s state when a hiring manager approves or rejects it.

          Required Editions

          Consider this sample approval process.

          • A recruiter prepares a draft job posting by using the Create Recruitment Posting guided flow and submits the recruitment posting record added by the guided flow for the hiring manager’s approval.
          • The hiring manager reviews the job posting and approves or rejects it.
          • The approval process updates the Status field on the recruitment posting based on the hiring manager’s action.
          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Approval, and then select Approval Processes.
          2. Select Recruitment Postings as the object to manage approval processes for.
          3. Click Create New Approval Process, and select Use Jump Start Wizard.
          4. Enter a name for the process.
            For example, Recruitment Posting Approval Workflow.
          5. Press Tab to automatically add the unique API name.
          6. In the Specify Entry Criteria section, for Use this approval process if the following, select criteria are met.
          7. In Field, select Status. In Operator, select Equals. In Value, select Draft.
          8. In the Select Approver section, select Let the submitter choose the approver manually.
            The recruiter can select the hiring manager who must review and approve the job posting.
          9. Save your changes.
          10. Click View Approval Process Detail Page.
          11. Define an initial submission action.
            1. In the Initial Submission Actions section, click Add New, and select Field Update.
            2. Enter a name for the field update action.
              For example, Update Status to Waiting for Approval.
            3. Press Tab to automatically add the unique API name.
            4. In Field to Update, select Status.
            5. In the Specify New Field Value section, under Picklist Options, select A specific value, and then select Waiting for Approval.
            6. Save your changes.
          12. Define approval actions.
            1. In the Approval Steps section, click Show Actions.
            2. For Approval Actions, click Add New, and select Field Update.
            3. Enter a name for the field update action.
              For example, Update Status to Active.
            4. Press Tab to automatically add the unique API name.
            5. In Field to Update, select Status.
            6. In the Specify New Field Value section, under Picklist Options, select A specific value, and then select Active.
            7. Save your changes.
          13. Define a rejection action.
            1. In the Approval Steps section, click Show Actions.
            2. For Rejection Actions, click Add New and select Field Update.
            3. Enter a name for the field update action.
              For example, Reset Status to Draft.
            4. Press Tab to automatically add the unique API name.
            5. In Field to Update, select Status.
            6. In the Specify New Field Value section, under Picklist Options, select A specific value, and then select Draft.
            7. Save your changes.
          14. Activate the approval process.
