Create a Location for a Visit
Visits require a location, so first create a location for the site visit.
Tip Save time by creating a record-triggered flow that automatically creates a
location when an account is created or updated. That way, you don’t have to manually create
locations, and accounts and locations stay current and in sync.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Locations.
- Click New.
- Enter a location name.
- Select the location type.
- In Visitor Address, search for and select or add the address based on locations or accounts.
- Save your work.
Create a Visit
Create visits for inspectors from a related list on the license application or public complaint record page, or from a Visits list view page.
- In the Inspection Management app, go to the license application record related to the inspection.
- On the Visits related list, click New.
- For Place, select the location or address for the inspector to visit. If necessary, create a location.
- Select the visit priority and account.
- For Parent Visit, select a previous visit related to this visit.
- For Context, select an application or a complaint.
- For Visit Type, search for and select an inspection type.
- Specify the planned start and end times for the visit.
- Provide any special instructions to the inspector.
- For Visitor, select People and then select the name of the inspector that you want to assign for this visit.
- Save your changes.
Create a Visited Party
Create visited parties to track the contact persons at the account being visited.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Visited Parties.
- Click New.
- Enter a visited party name.
- Select the contact for the visited party.
- Select the associated visit for which you are adding a visited party.
-
If this contact is the main point-of-contact for the visited party, select
Is Primary Contact.
Each visited party can have only one primary contact per visit.
- Save your work.
Relate an Action Plan Template to a Visit
Relate an inspection action plan template to a specific inspection visit.
- On a visit record page, on the Action Plans component, click New Plan.
- Enter a name.
- Search for and select the published action plan template that you want to assign to the visit.
- Click Next.
- Select the tasks that you want to add to the inspection.
-
Save your changes.
Inspection assessment indicator records are created for the inspection.
Now that you've created a visit, add it to an inspector's calendar. For instructions, see Events and Calendars. Select the visit record in the Related To field of the event.
