Browse through this collection of terms, key objects, and key concepts. This collection is designed to give Salesforce admins, sales reps, and developers a clear and consistent understanding of Rate Management concepts and helps them navigate the Rate Management landscape.
- Assignment Element
- An element used to set and change the context tag values of variables.
- Attribute Rate Card
- A rate card that defines a usage resource’s rate based on the attributes that impact rates. Use an attribute rate card to customize pricing and discounts based on specific characteristics of the resource.
- Base Rate
- This element calculates the base rate of a usage resource based on the rate card type.
- Base Rate Card
- A rate card that defines a per-unit rate applicable to the usage resource. The resource usage is billed at a specified rate if the user consumes more than their allowance for a given period.
- Binding Object
- The object associated with the entitlements that are granted with the sellable product.
- Formula Based Rating
- This element is used to perform functions and mathematical calculations to generate the rate for a usage resource.
- Grant Binding
- Bind sellable usage products, such as anchors and packs, to associate them with accounts, contracts, assets, or custom targets. This effectively pools the resources, making them available and manageable at the target level.
- List Group & List Operation
- A list group element filters items in a list based on specified filter conditions and then performs additional operations on the filtered list. A list operation is always the first step in the list group and defines how items in the list are filtered.
- Manual Rate Discount
- This element calculates the final price of a product after you manually enter the external discounts. Manual discounts support adjustment types such as number, percentage, and currency. The adjustment type determines the type of calculation applied.
- Price Book Rate Card
- A rate card that represents a junction object between price book and rate card objects.
- Procedure Simulation
- A simulation that tests and validates the accuracy of your rating procedure variables before activation, so that you can make adjustments and make sure that the procedure works as expected.
- Rate Adjustment Matrix
- This element calculates the rate of a usage resource based on the discounts configured for a set of custom conditions.
- Rate Card Entry
- A rule that determines the charge rate for using a product's resource. Each entry is linked to one rate card exclusively, and its activation or deactivation can be controlled by assigning effective dates.
- Rating Discovery Procedure
- A process used to fetch rate cards, rate card entries, and rate adjustments associated with multiple sellable products and usage resources related to a price book. Each element calls specific lookup tables to provide accurate quotes for usage-based products to customers through Quote and Order Capture and Asset Lifecycle.
- Rating Frequency Policy
- The policy that defines the frequency at which rating is initiated for the ratable summary records.
- Rating Procedure
- A customizable sequence of rating elements used to calculate the final net rate of a usage resource. Each element calls specific lookup tables to perform the necessary calculations.
- Rating Request
- A set of common run-time parameters, such as context definition and rating procedure for a set of records in the ratable summary table.
- Rating Request Batch Job
- A junction between the rating request and batch job objects.
- Rating Setting
- This element maps commonly used variables in a rating procedure to context tags.
- Rounding Values
- The element that calculates the rate of a usage resource precisely by applying rounding rules such as round up, round down, or half up.
- Rating Waterfall
- Provides detailed insights and reasons for every step of the rating process, which users can view to see the rate breakups and explanations for additions or deductions while calculating the final net rate of a usage resource.
- Stop Rating
- The element that stops the execution of the rating procedure for a particular line item.
- Token
- Token resources represent credit points or tokens. Use these resources to define the rates for usage resources in token resources and the charges for the consumption of the usage resources.
- Tier-Based Rate Discount
- The element that calculates the usage resource rate based on the slab-based discounts for the quantity consumed.
- Tier Rate Card
- A rate card that defines different consumption tiers for a usage resource and sets a specific rate for each tier.
- Volume-Based Rate Discount
- The element that calculates the usage resource rate based on the discounts configured for the quantities consumed.
