Required Editions
| Available in Lightning Experience in Professional, Unlimited, and Enterprise Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled. |
- Launch the Consumer Goods App
The Consumer Goods app provides all the Consumer Goods resources in one place (in the form of object tabs) and makes it easier for administrators to create, configure, and manage those resources. Assign the Consumer Goods app to the user profile of your admin who will create and manage Consumer Goods resources. - Explore the Consumer Goods Setup Assistant (Optional)
The Consumer Goods app includes a Consumer Goods Setup Assistant tool that you can use to perform key setup tasks. Alternatively, you can perform these tasks from Setup and object tabs in the Consumer Goods app. - Configure Retail Execution Users and Permissions
Let’s learn about the various personas involved in Retail Execution. You can configure your users and assign the Retail Execution permission sets to provide access to visits, tasks, and more. - Enable Features for Your Org
To use Retail Execution, you must enable it in your org. Also, configure your org to use action plan templates to assign visit and enable your field reps to use maps and notes. - Create a User Profile and Provide Access to Objects
Give your users access to the required objects by assigning a user profile. To manage access, you can set and change the standard object permissions. - Provide Access to Consumer Goods Mobile App
Give access to your users to use the Consumer Goods Mobile App. - Set Up Sharing Rules for Retail Stores
Starting Spring ’21, the Retail Store and Account objects share a Master Detail relationship, which allows Retail Store to inherit sharing rules from Account. So, it’s not required to define custom sharing rules separately for Retail Store. We’ve added an attribute, isTopLevelWithMD, to the Retail Store object and made the default sharing model as Controlled by Parent. - Create Custom Formula Fields on Consumer Goods Objects
Custom formula fields can help you access and understand data at a glance without any manual calculations. Values in formula fields are automatically calculated based on other fields. You can create custom formula fields on some of the key Consumer Goods objects. - Field History Tracking for Consumer Goods Objects
You can track field history for all custom objects and most of the standard objects in Consumer Goods. - Add Visits to the Retail Store Related List
With Visits added to the Retail Store related list, you can see all the visit-related information for a retail store. You can also create visits from the related list. The default fields for the related list are VisitID, Visit Date, Visitor, and Visit Priority. You can change the field defaults to your business requirements. - Add Orders to the Retail Store Related List
Add Orders to the Retail Store related list so you can see all the orders that are placed for a store. You can also create orders from the related list. The default fields for the related list are Order ID, Order Amount, and Order Date. You can change the field names to your business requirements. - Create Pages for Your Org
Using the Lightning App Builder, you can build user interfaces for field reps that work perfectly on mobile devices, without writing a single line of code. Create an app page to give your field reps easy access to objects that are the most important to them. You can also create record pages to give field reps a customized view for each object’s records. - Enable Chatter, Notes, and Attachments for Consumer Goods Objects
Add notes and attachments to the related list of Consumer Goods objects. And you can enable Chatter for the objects. - Create a Custom Component for a Component Task
Create a Lightning component and ensure that the component has the lightning:isUrlAddressable interface. - Set Up Flows for Retail Execution
To help your sales managers work around the limited list of task types they can assign, you can use your logic and create flows for those activities. Sales managers can then add the new flows for activities such as product demos to their action plan templates, and eventually to visits. - Configure Salesforce Maps
Configure a Nearby Map Component with an appropriate layer to help your sales managers visualize and track their territories. For example, you can create a component with a layer to display retail stores and add the component to the Promotion record page. When on the Promotion page, sales managers can view the retail stores running the promotion in a map-based interface. - Set Up Salesforce Calendar
With Salesforce Calendar, sales managers can avoid scheduling conflicts because they can see the visits assigned to their field reps. The visits appear as events on their calendars. Field reps can also check their calendars for scheduled visits and plan their day accordingly.
