Create a User Profile and Provide Access to Objects

Create a User Profile and Provide Access to Objects

Give your users access to the required objects by assigning a user profile. To manage access, you can set and change the standard object permissions.

          Required Editions

Available in Lightning Experience in Professional, Unlimited, and Enterprise Editions that have Consumer Goods Cloud enabled.
          1. From Setup, enter Profiles in the Quick Find box.
          2. Under Users, select Profiles.
          3. Clone the Standard User profile, and assign it a name.
You can now assign the objects, page layouts, and permissions to the profile.
          4. At the page header level, click Edit and navigate to the standard object permissions section.
          5. Assign create, read, update, delete, and view all records permissions in the required combinations to the Consumer Goods objects.
            Note
Note You can’t change the create, read, update, or delete permissions for the Associated Location object in a user profile.
The permissions control access at the object level. The sharing model controls access to individual records within that object type. Set access levels based on the functional requirements for the profile. For example, create different groups of permissions for sales reps, sales managers, territory manager, and administrators.
