Revenue Management Billable Usage Types
Usage of certain Revenue Management (formerly Revenue Cloud) features impacts your event credit consumption. For more information on how usage is billed, refer to your contract or contact your account executive.
Event Credit Usage
When you purchase a Revenue Cloud Advanced or Revenue Cloud Billing license, events are granted upon activation of the contract. The number of credits consumed is based on the number of units used for each usage type, multiplied by the multiplier listed on the rate card for that usage type.
Internal and External Use
Revenue Management calculates event credit usage based on the type of use.
- Internal use: Actions performed by users with a Revenue Cloud Advanced license.
- External use: Actions performed by users who process, query, or analyze records by using APIs directly, outside a Salesforce user experience. External use also includes usage for these scenarios.
- Users with member-based or login-based licenses to partner communities without a Revenue Cloud for Partner Communities license.
- Users with member-based or login-based licenses to customer communities without a Revenue Cloud for Self-Service license or a Revenue Cloud for Customer Communities license.
- Users with a B2B Commerce Advanced license and without a Revenue Cloud for Self-Service license.
Billable Usage Types
If you've purchased a Revenue Cloud Advanced or Revenue Cloud Billing license, you're billed for these usage types.
| Usage Type | Description | Internal Use | External Use | Rate Card | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pricing | Usage is calculated based on the invocation of Pricing APIs that lead to a successful pricing attempt. A pricing API call is considered successful even if certain lines in a transaction aren't priced, which can happen due to misconfiguration or inability to get relevant price information. A pricing API call is successful when an attempt is made to price a line item, and either the price is calculated and returned, or an error code is logged. |
