Plan Your Promotion Scope and Method in Agentforce Revenue Management (Beta)

When designing a promotion, consider who you want to target and how. Start by mapping your requirements to the options in the Quick Promotion guided flow.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions of Agentforce Revenue Management with the Revenue Cloud Advanced license, and the Global Promotions Management Basic Add-On license or Loyalty Management - Growth or Advanced license.

          Channels

If your admin has configured channels, you can specify on which channels to offer the promotion.

          Product Scope

You can define promotions for simple products, bundled products, and all products in a category based on the product selling model. When a user adds a product to a transaction, Agentforce Revenue Management shows all eligible promotions.

When you design a promotion for bundled products, you can decide whether to provide a discount on the root product, child products, or both. Promotions specified for child products are available only when the customer buys them as a part of the bundle.

          Manual versus Automatic Promotions

Specify whether users apply the promotion manually by using a coupon code or whether Agentforce Revenue Management applies eligible promotions automatically. Automatic promotions simplify the sales process. Manual promotions offer sales reps more flexibility.

          Evaluation Method for Multiple Promotions

Define how to evaluate promotions when multiple promotions are applied.

          • Stacked: When multiple promotions are applied, the discounts for all the promotions are calculated independently and then aggregated.
          • First Eligible Promotion: When multiple promotions are applied, the discount is calculated only for the first eligible promotion based on priority.

For examples, see Line Level Promotions.

          Other Considerations

          • You can’t create promotions for usage-based products. However, if a usage-based product belongs to a category with promotions, users can see and apply promotions to the product.
          • For subscription products, promotions are applied for the entire duration of the subscription.
          • Users can’t apply promotions for quotes and orders that have ramp deals for groups.
          • Users can’t apply promotions to products with derived pricing.
          • If a product is associated with multiple categories, Agentforce Revenue Management's promotion evaluation randomly selects one of the categories, resulting in inconsistent pricing outcomes.

For example, the Antivirus product belongs to the Software and Security Software categories. All the products in the Software category get a 10% discount and there’s no discount for products in the Security Software category. At run time, when users add the Antivirus product to a quote or an order, Agentforce Revenue Management applies a 10% discount or no discount.

          Limits

          • You can have up to 500 active promotions. To increase this limit to have up to 2,000 active promotions, contact Salesforce Customer Support.
          • For each bundled product, you can create up to 30 promotions for child products.
