          Get Your Org Ready for Intelligent Appointment Management

          Enable the features and assign the permissions required for provider scheduling and asset scheduling.

          Required Editions

          User Permissions Needed
          To use Health Cloud: Health Cloud Foundation
          To use Health Cloud console: Health Cloud Standard
          To enable Provider Search: Data Pipelines Base User
          To use Intelligent Appointment Management: Health Cloud Appointment Management
          1. Ensure that person accounts are enabled and configured for Health Cloud.
          2. Verify that the patient record layout includes the mailing address field.
            The mailing address field on the patient’s record is used for the driving distance filter.
          3. For provider scheduling, enable Data Pipelines. See Enable Data Pipelines for Provider Search.
          4. For provider scheduling, enable Provider Search. See Enable Provider Search.
          5. For the objects used in Intelligent Appointment Management, set the default internal access to Public Read Only. You do this from Setup, in Sharing Settings.
            If appointment schedulers book providers, assign these permissions. If you already use Provider Search, the Care Provider Searchable Field, Healthcare Practitioner Facility, and Healthcare Provider objects have the required sharing settings.

          6. For provider scheduling, set up providers and facilities.

            Associates a practitioner with a facility

            In each healthcare practitioner facility record, enter details required for scheduling systems.

            • Enter operating hours. To display times in the correct timezones, Salesforce Scheduler and external scheduling systems use the operating hours from healthcare practitioner facility records. During appointment scheduling, Intelligent Appointment Management shows time slots in the time zone of the logged-in user.
            • If you use Salesforce Scheduler as your back-end scheduling system, select the relevant Service Territory Member.
            • If you use an external scheduling system, for Source System, enter your electronic health record (EHR) system.
            Care provider facility specialty

            Associate a practitioner with their specialties. In a later task, you associate visit types with these specialties.

            Create a care provider facility specialty record for each healthcare practitioner facility record.

          7. For asset scheduling, create asset type, asset, and work type asset type records.
          8. For provider scheduling, sync and verify Provider Search data. From Setup, go to Provider Search Settings and click Manual Data Sync to sync the data in the new records you created. Then review the Care Provider Searchable Field records and confirm that they show the data you expect.

          Now you’re ready to enable Intelligent Appointment Management.
