Enable Efficient Contract Reviews with Easy View of Edits at Each Stage

Use the Salesforce Contracts Connector for Word add-in to facilitate collaborative internal online contract reviews and offline external contract reviews. The add-in combines the capabilities of Microsoft 365 Word with Salesforce Contracts for a user-friendly, comprehensive integration.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, Professional, and Developer editions.

Who: To engage in collaborative contract review with multiple reviewers, users need Microsoft 365 Word or Microsoft 365 Word Digital Experience User permission set license.

Why: The enhanced Microsoft 365 editor gives users an improved and more comprehensive contract reviewing experience. The Microsoft 365 editor helps contract authors to:

• Collaborate among multiple internal reviewers, enabling Salesforce authorized reviewers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of contract information.

  • Directly initiate an internal review from the contract record page. Provide reviewers with view access or edit access. View and address the comments from internal and external reviewers.

  • Filter clauses, sections, or both containing the edits. Accept and reject the changes to the clauses and sections within the document.

  • Filter comments by section, clause, and reviewer.

  • Add, edit, delete, and resolve comments from the document itself.

• Send contracts for offline external review through email. The external reviewers can review, provide feedback, suggest changes, and seek clarifications directly within the document by using the redlining feature. The contract author can then upload the document back to Salesforce and address the changes and comments from the external reviewers.
