          Define a Contract Approval Process

          To set up a contract approval process for your contract state model, you must create a contract approval process. You must then define the field update settings for final approval actions, final rejection actions, and recall actions. The contract approval process setup ensures that the contract status reflects the defined action when the contract is approved, rejected, or recalled.

          To set up the contract approval process, ensure that the contract management permission set license and the associated permission sets are available in your org and you have set the sharing rules.

          These are minimum configuration requirements to enable a contract approval process.

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Approval Process.
          2. Click Approval Processes.
          3. Select Contract in the Manage Approval Processes For field.
          4. Click Create New Approval Process, and then click Use Standard Setup Wizard.
          5. Enter process name, unique name, and description in Step 1. Enter Name and Description.
          6. Click Next.
          7. Click Next in Step 2. Specify Entry Criteria.
          8. Select Administrators ONLY can edit records during the approval process in Step 3. Specify Approver Field and Record Editability Properties. Click Next.
          9. Click Next in Step 4. Select Notification Templates.
          10. Enter these details in Step 5. Select Fields to Display on Approval Page Layout:
            1. Selected Fields: Contract Number, Contract Owner
            2. Select Display approval history information in addition to the fields selected above.
            3. Select Allow approvers to access the approval page only from within the Salesforce application. (Recommended).
            4. Click Next.
          11. Enter these details in Step 6. Specify Initial Submitters:
            1. Search: Owner
            2. Allowed Submitter: Contract Owner
            3. Select Add the Submit for Approval button and Approval History related list to all Contract page layouts.
            4. Select Allow submitters to recall approval requests.
            5. Save your changes.
            6. Select I'll do this later. Take me back to the listing of all approval processes for this object. Click Go.
