Create a library of standard types or classes of barriers that patients or members
encounter. Access to transportation is considered a care determinant. Lack of transportation is a
care barrier type. Make sure to modify user permissions so that users have access to these
types.

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Health Cloud
or Life Sciences Cloud
From the App Launcher, find and select Care Barrier Types, and then
click New.
Enter a name for the barrier type such as Lack of access to
transportation.
To make the barrier type available to use, select Active.
Optionally, select a code type and code to associate the barrier type with a code.
Save your changes.
