          Transactional Reconciliation in User-Initiated Sends

          Transactional Reconciliation in User-Initiated Sends

Transactional Reconciliation helps you track the final delivery status of each transactional email sent through a user-initiated send. When enabled, Marketing Cloud Engagement monitors messages and assigns a final disposition (Sent or Not Sent) based on delivery signals during the expiration window.

To use Transactional Reconciliation, your send must reference a data extension created from the Sendable_Reconcilable_Data_Extension template. This template includes the reconciliation fields needed for message tracking.

For more information see, How Transactional Reconciliation Works and Create a Sendable Data Extension for Transactional Reconciliation.

          Note
Note You can use Transactional Reconciliation only for transactional sends, and not for commercial or promotional email classifications.
          1. In Email Studio, go to Interactions > User-Initiated Emails.
          2. Open an existing send or create one.
          3. On the Properties page, under Send Management, make sure that Send Classification is Transactional.
          4. Under Recipients, click Edit Recipients, add the sendable reconcilable data extension you created to the Targeted list, and save the changes.
          5. You can now see the Transactional Reconciliation section in your Properties page.
          6. Select the Reconcilable checkbox.
          7. Specify the Reconciliation Expiration Time in hours and save your changes.
          8. Before you send your email, you can use the Test Send to review the reconciliation settings. You can find the reconciliation settings under Send Properties.
