          Request and Capture Customer Information

          Request and Capture Customer Information

Request and store customer information using the outbound and info capture templates in MobileConnect.

For example, Northern Trail Outfitters wants to tailor their marketing campaigns to their customers’ ZIP codes. They create an outbound message. When customers respond, NTO prompts them to text in their ZIP code. NTO then stores this information in the contact record. NTO sends a confirmation message that includes a coupon code for 10% off the next in-store purchase when the customers show the coupon on their phone.

          Note
Note You can capture more attributes in a single Info Capture message, but more messages can cost more for subscribers who have limited text and data plans.
          1. Create the outbound message.
            1. In the outbound message, include the keyword in the info capture template. For example: Text ZIPCODE to find deals in your area!
          2. Create an Info Capture message.
            1. Include the attribute to capture. For example: ZipCode.
            2. To prompt the subscriber to send in information, include an outbound response message. For example: Text in your ZIP code to find deals in your area!
            3. To confirm receipt of the information, include a confirmation message. For example: "Thanks for the information. Talk to you soon!" You can also include a coupon code in your confirmation message.
          3. Schedule or send the info capture message.
          4. Schedule or send the outbound message.
