          Create a Beacon Location

          Create a Beacon Location

Create beacon locations in Marketing Cloud Engagement to specify the physical location of your beacons.

          Note
Note Configure your beacon hardware according to the manufacturer’s specifications before you set up beacon locations.
          1. In MobilePush, on the Location tab, click Create Location.
          2. Click Beacon.
          3. Type the name or address of your beacon location, or drag the marker onto the map.
            Note
Note Beacons can have a radius of up to 50 meters.
          4. Click Select.
          5. Enter a name for the beacon.
          6. Enter the beacon UUID into the GUID field. Enter this unique identifier assigned to your beacon exactly as noted on the hardware itself. You can use the same UUID value across multiple beacons.

If you don’t enter the exact values listed on the beacon hardware for the GUID, Major, and Minor fields, MobilePush can’t deliver the correct message to the beacon and mobile app. Ensure that the values in MobilePush exactly match the values on the beacon hardware before conducting your beacon-related marketing activities.

          7. By default, the Description field contains the latitude and longitude of the beacon location. You can change the description to name your beacon or leave the default value.
          8. Enter the Major and Minor values for your beacons. These values must match the values assigned to your beacon exactly as noted on the hardware itself.
          9. Review your beacon information on the provided map to ensure that it’s correct.
          10. Save the beacon location.
