Sitemap Converter Expectations
Use the sitemap converter tool to identify and automatically modify components in a Marketing Cloud sitemap that are known to be incompatible with Data 360. The resulting output provides a sitemap that’s more closely aligned with Data 360 sitemap components and construction.
Every Marketing Cloud Personalization implementation is unique, and the sitemap for each implementation can differ in many ways. During the conversion process, the sitemap converter tool makes changes based in part on the catalog data the sitemap supports. Using this information, the tool makes reasonable determinations as to what changes to make and how to properly map product objects to the necessary Data Model Objects (DMOs). Though modifications made by the sitemap converter tool are compatible with Data 360, the output generated using the sitemap converter tool is often incomplete, and requires manual intervention before using it in a production environment.
As part of the conversion process, the sitemap converter tool provides a report that highlights any necessary repairs, updates, or areas for review before using the sitemap in Data 360. Following initial conversion, you can use this report to learn more about what modifications the converter made to your Marketing Cloud Personalization sitemap, and what additional changes you must make to the sitemap before deploying it.
