          Create a Segment Based on User Profile Attributes

          Use user profile attributes to create segments for your campaigns and target users based on those attributes.

          Required Editions

          Permissions Needed
          To create a segment: A role with Segments Create/Edit permissions
          1. In the Audiences section of the main navigation, select User Segments | User Segments.
          2. Click New Segment.
          3. Enter a Segment Name that describes its purpose.
          4. Select Gears from the Select Category dropdown.
          5. Select User Attributes | Attribute from the Select Rule dropdown.
          6. Select the attribute from the Select an attribute dropdown.
          7. Configure the applicable parameters for the attribute’s type (string, multistring, integer, decimal, boolean, date).
            Parameter Description
            String Equals, does not equal, contains, does not contain, any value, no value.
            Multistring Includes any/all, does not include any/all, any value, no value.
            Integer/Decimal Equal to, at least, at most, between, any value, no value.
            Boolean True, false, any value, no value.
            Date For all time, today, in the last, in the next, between, on or after, on or before, between date.
          8. Click Save.

          • Targeting users that have a favorite color.
          • Targeting users that are over a specific age.
          • Targeting users that download your mobile app.
          • Targeting users that have a subscription expiring in the next 30 days.
