Guidelines for Setting Up a Confirmed Opt-In Process

Guidelines for Setting Up a Confirmed Opt-In Process

Before setting up a confirmed opt-in process in Account Engagement, keep these guidelines in mind.

          • The process documented here is the recommended way to set up a confirmed opt-in process in Account Engagement because it avoids issues that can arise with link tracking. However, there are other options for creating a confirmed opt-in process, such as using a custom redirect instead of a form handler. Before you begin, review this process and decide if it’s right for your business.
          • New subscribers are added to an unconfirmed opt-in list and they receive an email with a link asking them to verify that they opted in. When they click the link, they’re added to a confirmed opt-in list and they’re directed to a page confirming their subscription.
          • Before you begin, decide which page you want to use as the confirmation page subscribers see after they confirm their opt-in. You can use an existing page on your website, or an Account Engagement landing page.
          • If preferred, you can use a repeating Engagement Studio program to manage the execution of these steps. The number of repeating engagement programs you can have depends on your edition of Account Engagement.
          • Test your finished process before you use it with real subscribers.
