Execute External Actions with Completion Actions

Execute External Actions with Completion Actions

Trigger external actions when prospects interact with your Account Engagement assets. For example, register a prospect for a webinar after they complete a sign-up form or send a text message after a prospect clicks a custom redirect link. External Action completion actions are available on forms, form handlers, files, custom redirects, emails, and page actions. External action completion actions aren’t available for classic emails.

To access Marketing Setup in Salesforce: Customize Application
          1. Go to the completion actions for the asset that you’re working with.
            • For forms, edit the asset and select the Completion Actions step in the setup flow.
            • For enhanced emails, on the record home, click Send and edit the send settings and add completion actions.
            • For form handlers, custom redirects, files, and page actions, edit the asset and scroll to the Completion Actions section.
          2. If you’re adding an action to an email, choose at least one trigger. You can trigger an action based on when a prospect opens the email, clicks a link in the email, or unsubscribes via the email.
          3. From the Action dropdown menu, select Execute External Action and search for an external action.
          4. Select a Merge Field, and the click +Add Action.
          5. To add a standard action, click +Add Action.
          6. To add a conditional action, click +Add Conditional Group, and use the dropdowns to specify prospect criteria, actions, and required details.
To add another action in the same conditional group, click +Add Action to Group.
          7. Save your work.
