Create a Campaign and View Performance in Marketing Cloud Next

Marketing Cloud Next campaigns provide a centralized hub where you can design, automate, and track your marketing efforts. When creating a campaign in Marketing Cloud Next, you select a preconfigured flow to start with, such as a single email or signup form.

          Required Editions

Available in: Account Engagement Growth, Plus, Advanced, and Premium Editions with Data 360 enabled in regions where Marketing Cloud Next Growth or Advanced Editions are supported.

          Considerations for Campaigns

Before you create a campaign in Marketing Cloud Next, keep these considerations in mind.

          • To manage consent, import a subscription from Account Engagement. Review Set Up Consent and Subscriptions.
          • To differentiate your Marketing Cloud Next campaigns from your Account Engagement campaigns, use a different naming scheme between the two.
          • To prevent viewing a Marketing Cloud Next campaign in Account Engagement, use different campaign record types for campaigns that you create in Marketing Cloud Next.
          • Although you can view both Account Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next campaigns on the Campaign tab, manage each campaign only in the app where you created it.
          • Set the layout for Marketing Cloud Next campaign records only for the app. Otherwise, the campaign experience for the Sales and Account Engagement apps also changes.
          • Account Engagement merge fields appear in the Marketing Cloud Next content builder but they don't work in emails that you send with Marketing Cloud Next. For more information, review this Knowledge Article.

          Create a Single Email Campaign

As you explore Marketing Cloud Next, creating a simple email campaign is a great place to start.

          1. In Marketing Cloud Next, on the Campaign tab, create a campaign, and set the campaign type as Email.
          2. For the Flow, select the Single Email template.
          3. Create a segment, or select an existing one.
          4. Edit the email message, which opens the builder.
          5. Add images to your message, for example, the images that you copied from Account Engagement.
          6. Preview and test, and then publish the message.

          View Campaigns and Campaign Performance

You can view and access all your campaigns, including existing Account Engagement campaigns, in Marketing Cloud Next. However, we recommend you manage a campaign only within the app that it’s created. Because historical data associated with Account Engagement campaigns syncs to Data 360, you can create custom Data 360 reports for a cross-campaign view of engagement and performance. Scoring and engagement metrics are also available on person records and on the Analytics page.

          1. To view a campaign, go to the Campaign tab in Marketing Cloud.
          2. To analyze campaign performance, review Measure Success in Marketing Cloud.
          3. Work with an admin to add scoring components to lead, contact, and person account records, or to create report collections in Analytics.
