Create a Custom App Event
Marketers can stream the event in real time from a mobile app via the unified Marketing Cloud SDK. Leverage this data in Data 360 for segmentation and deeper insights, or in Flow Builder to create personalized customer journeys.
You can't delete attributes after you activate your event, so make sure to review them first.
You can't delete an active event. You can deactivate it if you don't want to use it anymore, but you can still reuse its attributes in other events, and reactivate it later.
Each custom event name and attribute is case-sensitive. Make sure to use the exact case at all times, from creation and tracking via the SDK to referring the data in Data 360 and using the event in scenarios like display triggers in in-app messages.
The custom event data is stored in the Device Application Engagement data management object (DMO) in Data 360. Each new attribute creates a new field in the DMO. The maximum number of unique attributes per org is 800, so reuse existing attributes across multiple events instead of creating new ones. For example, most events use attributes like Name and User ID.
