Marketing Cloud Engagement Journeys and Campaigns

Marketing Cloud Engagement Journeys and Campaigns

Use the campaign object as a shared workspace across Marketing Cloud Engagement and Marketing Cloud Next. Associate journeys to a campaign to streamline workflows and facilitate in-depth reporting.

          Required Editions

Available in: Salesforce Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Marketing Cloud Next Growth or Advanced Edition, and in Starter and Pro Suite Editions. Your edition determines the options that you have.

When you create a campaign, you can select a Quick Start option that comes with a preconfigured flow or select Build Your Own to create a campaign and flow from the ground up. Campaign options can help you get started faster, whether you’re creating one piece of content or a multistep customer experience.

          Multi-Org Scenarios

          • Marketing Cloud Engagement+ supports customers with multiple orgs.
          • For example: If org A builds campaign A and associates journey A, that same journey isn’t available for Org B to relate to campaign B.

          Campaign Reporting with Journeys

          • For new journeys, reporting begins when the journey is connected to a Campaign.
          • For running a journey, we attempt to associate some historical send and engagement data to that newly-associated campaign. The amount of historical data depends on when the data was brought into Marketing Cloud Next and Data 360.
          Example
Example In January 2025, you activate a welcome journey. In January 2026, you connect your Marketing Cloud Engagement account to Data 360.

We attempt to backfill 45–90 days of historical send and engagement data to Data 360, and new data is populated from that point forward.

In February 2026, you connect the activated welcome journey to a Campaign, and it displays analytics from June 2025 to February 2026.

          • Connect Marketing Cloud Engagement Journeys to Campaigns
Organize journeys and enhance reporting by linking Marketing Cloud Engagement journeys to Campaigns. Connecting journeys to a Campaign helps group them into a larger marketing effort. It also automatically creates a grouped view of their marketing performance.
