To simplify creation, to support decisioning when recommending offers, and to improve reporting, create record types for offer categories before marketing managers create offers. Each record type provides the page layouts, fields, and picklist values for that category. For example, if your company provides offers for credit cards and loans, create a record type for each offer category.

Use Salesforce Go to automatically create Offer Treatment record types and page layouts and map each record type to its corresponding layout. To set them up manually, see Create Record Types.
