          Considerations for Object Sync

          Considerations for Object Sync

Object Sync improves performance in the CRM Analytics platform by updating prospect data separately from other large datasets. Before you use Object Sync with Account Engagement, review these considerations.

          Required Editions

Available in: B2B Marketing Analytics and B2B Marketing Analytics Plus in Lightning Experience

          • B2B Marketing Analytics Plus is available in Salesforce Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Account Engagement Premium Edition. Also available in Account Engagement Plus and Advanced Editions with the B2B Marketing Analytics Plus add-on.
          • B2B Marketing Analytics is available in Account Engagement Plus, Advanced, and Premium Editions. Also available in Account Engagement Pro and Ultimate Editions with the B2B Marketing Analytics add-on.

          Best Practices

          • If you plan to disable Object Sync, we recommend that users delete apps that were created while the feature was turned on. Recreate the apps after sync is disabled to ensure that the correct dataflows are used and that queries work correctly.
          • Data Sync is required.
          • For best performance, consider scheduling replication at different times for different objects.
          • To get complete data, schedule a periodic full sync for the five B2B Marketing objects: B2BMktObjectTag, B2BMktProspect, B2BMktProspectAccount, B2BMktProspectStage, and B2BMktVisitor.
          • Updates to this feature sometimes include field name changes that require edits to users’ queries. Always review release notes for the latest information.

          Availability

          • Object Sync is available to use with B2B Marketing Analytics and B2B Marketing Analytics Plus and can be used with multiple business units.
          • Salesforce Professional Edition isn’t supported. If you try to enable Object Sync in Professional Edition, an error appears.
          • Data preview is unavailable on these objects: B2BMktObjectTag, B2BMktProspectAccount, B2BMktProspectStage, B2BMktVisitor.
          • The B2BMktVirtualObjectField is used for internal purposes, and can’t be selected in the Data Manager.
          • After you turn on Object Sync, data is limited to three years and can affect some field values. For example, when a visitor record is older than three years, and the prospect record is newer, Prospect Velocity appears negative.
          • The custom field data types “textarea” and “CRMuser” can’t be synced to CRM Analytics, so they don’t appear on the custom field selection page.

          Making Changes

          • When you exclude a custom prospect field, it isn’t removed from the dataset. After you remove a custom field, it’s queued for removal and counts toward your allocations until it’s deleted. This delay can cause field creation errors. To request immediate removal, contact Salesforce Customer Support.
          • After the admin syncs changes, users whose apps use this dataset must reconfigure their apps to receive the updates.
          • Each time a custom prospect field is added or changed in Account Engagement, an admin must resync on the Marketing Setup page.

          Data Allocations

          • When you create or reconfigure a B2B Marketing Analytics app, it can take up to 24 hours for new data to become available.
          • Object Sync can sync a limited number of custom fields: 500 for Enterprise Edition users and 800 for Unlimited Edition users. Each custom field in a business unit counts toward this limit.
          • Text field values are truncated at about 2,000 characters.
          • Prospect data is limited to three years.
