Use Forms for a Permission Pass

Set up a custom opt-in field for a new form that you share with prospects. Send an email with a link to the form, and then run an automation rule to remove prospects who don’t opt in.

          1. Create a prospect custom field.
          2. Name the field Opt in, and fill out the remaining form fields.
          3. From the Type dropdown, select Radio Button, and enter Opt in for the value.
          4. Create a form that contains the new field.
          5. Send a list email that includes the link to the form to ask prospects to opt in to your list.
          6. To remove prospects that haven’t responded or opted in, create and run an automation rule with the following criteria.
            • Prospect list [is member of] [email list name].
            • Prospect custom field [isn’t] [Opt in].
            • Completion action: Change prospect default field [Do Not Email] to [Do Not Email].

For best results, wait between 7 and 14 business days for prospects to receive and respond to your email.

You don’t need to do anything in Salesforce to reflect these changes. The prospect’s Salesforce Do Not Email field is updated automatically.
