          Considerations for Using External Actions

          Considerations for Using External Actions

When working with External Actions, keep these considerations in mind.

          Required Editions

Available in: Account Engagement Plus, Advanced, and Premium Editions
          • Before you create an external action, pick an invocable action to use. You can use a supported standard or custom invocable action, or you can install one from AppExchange.
          • If you install an action from AppExchange, customization is limited. Work with your developer to edit the provided JSON schema to fit your needs.
          • To protect your data, use only invocable actions that are created with Transport Layer Security (TLS).
          • To make an action available to use in Engagement Studio, assign the related marketing app extension to a business unit.
          • External actions can be subject to third-party limits. For example, an action that posts a message in an external system can be truncated based on that system’s character limits.
          • Each business unit can execute up to 100,000 external actions per day. The limit resets at midnight based on the default time zone for your business unit.
