          Considerations for Using External Activity

          Considerations for Using External Activity

When working with external activities, keep these considerations in mind.

          Required Editions

Available in: Account Engagement Plus, Advanced, and Premium Editions
          • After you add an activity type, complete the integration for the external activity using Tooling API. To ensure that your integration functions properly, we recommend working with your developer.
          • External activities are available to use in automation rules, segmentation rules, and Engagement Studio programs. To make data available to use, the record and its marketing app extension must be active for automations.
          • Engagement Studio triggers that are based on external activity evaluate activities for prospects only after they enter the program. If a prospect activity occurs before the prospect enters the program, the trigger doesn’t execute.
          • External activity data isn’t tracked for prospects in the recycle bin.
          • To access and export external prospect activity data, use the Account Engagement API. The limits for external activity API calls depend on your Account Engagement edition. For more information, see the limits for External Activity calls.
