Testing Forms
To test a hosted form, open it in a browser and complete it like a prospect does. When you’re testing forms, keep these considerations in mind.
Required Editions
| Available in: All Account Engagement Editions |
- Unless the form is in kiosk mode or set to always display after submission, Account Engagement records duplicate prospect activities on the record once every 30 minutes. Every submission is accepted, and completion actions fire for each submission. If you submit the form multiple times during testing, check the prospect audits to confirm that the form is working as expected. All submissions appear in prospect audits, but only one submission every 30 minutes appears in the prospect’s activities.
- To test a form again, clear your browser cookies and fill it out with a different email address to create a different prospect record. If you don’t clear cookies or use a new email address, the form submission is credited to the prospect created in your previous test.
- If you return to a form within 10 minutes of submitting it, it displays the thank you content or redirects to the thank you page. To view the form again, clear your browser cookies or wait 10 minutes.
- If a form has an autoresponder email, the autoresponder isn’t sent each time when you submit the form repeatedly in a short time. By default, the autoresponder is throttled to prevent prospects from receiving duplicate emails.
- When testing a form with progressive profiling without Always Display enabled, you must wait 10 minutes after submitting the form. To force forms to display during the 10-minute period, add this parameter to the end of your form’s URL: “?PI_ALWAYS_DISPLAY=1”.
- Make sure that Show Filtered Activities is on when testing forms, otherwise your test activities could be hidden. Enable it by clicking the Tools dropdown above the form’s Prospect table, then select Show Filtered Activities.
