          Validate Email Addresses on Form Submissions

          To prevent prospects from submitting forms with invalid email addresses, set up email validation on a per-form basis.

          Required Editions

          Available in: All Account Engagement Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To edit a form: Account Engagement Administrator or Marketing role
          1. Open the Forms page.
            • In Account Engagement, select Marketing | Forms | Forms.
            • In the Lightning app, select Content | Forms.
          2. Open the form you want to edit, and click Edit form.
          3. Next to the email field, click the pencil icon.
          4. From the Data Format dropdown, select a validation option.

            Email with valid mail server requires

            • Valid email address syntax
            • Live domain name
            • Receiving email server listed in DNS records

            Email not from ISPs and free email providers requires

            • Valid email address syntax
            • Live domain name
            • Receiving email server listed in DNS records
            • Not from a known ISP (for example, Comcast or Charter)
            • Not from a free email provider (for example, Gmail or Hotmail)
          5. Click the Advanced tab and enter a detailed error message that displays when the prospect’s email address isn’t valid.
          6. Save your work.
