Guidelines for Sending Campaigns with Sales Emails and Alerts

When sending campaigns in Sales Emails and Alerts campaigns, keep these guidelines in mind.

          Campaigns

          • Your Salesforce admin must add the Send Engage Emails button to your lead and contact search and page layouts before you can use this feature. The Send Engage Email button doesn’t display on Recently Viewed list views.
          • The From address defaults to the logged-in user’s email address or the lead, contact, or prospect account owner’s email address (when using delegated sending). Sales Emails and Alerts campaigns override the sender specified in the email template.
          • If you send an email from a Salesforce campaign, the campaign members receive the email. Campaign members can be leads or contacts.
          • If you send an email to a lead or contact without a corresponding prospect record, Account Engagement creates a record.

          Templates and Files

          • Any template in Account Engagement that is available for 1:1 emails is available for Sales Emails and Alerts campaigns.
          • Users can view all templates marked for 1:1 emails that are in any folder they have permissions to view. If your edition doesn’t include folder permissions, users can browse all folders that contain email templates marked for 1:1 use.
          • To use Salesforce Files in Sales Emails and Alerts campaigns, enable Content Deliveries and Public Links for users.
          • Files uploaded from the Sales Emails and Alerts editor are saved as Salesforce files under Owned by Me.
          • Only those Salesforce files that are shared via a link (in Salesforce Classic) or have a public link (Lightning Experience) are available to choose in the editor.

          Recipients and Consent

          • When a Sales Emails and Alerts email has 10 or more recipients, an unsubscribe tag (%%unsubscribe%%) is added to the body of the email. If you remove this tag, you can’t send the email.
          • When a prospect is marked Do Not Email or has opted out, you can’t send them one-to-many emails. These prospects can still receive one-to-one emails.
          • You can’t send Sales Emails and Alerts campaigns to a lead or contact whose related prospect is archived.
          • If you send an email from a Salesforce campaign, the campaign members receive the email. Campaign members can be leads or contacts.
          • If you send an email to a lead or contact without a corresponding prospect record, Account Engagement creates a record.
