When you send critical notifications and other operational messages, you want to reach
all your customers—not just people who have opted in to receive marketing email from you.
Turn on operational email sending to bypass opt-in status for certain types of
messages.
Required Editions
Available in: All Account
Engagement Editions
User Permissions Needed
To enable operational email sending:
Account Engagement Administrator role
To choose operational email content type:
Account Engagement Administrator role or
custom user role
To start or resume operational Engagement Studio programs:
Account Engagement Administrator role or custom
user role
Open the settings for your business unit.
In Account Engagement, click and then select
Settings.
In the Lightning app, select Account Engagement
Settings.
Click Edit, then select Enable Operational
Emails.
Review the restrictions associated with operational email sending and confirm your
selection.
In the Email Builder, select the Operational Email content type to bypass
email marketing opt-in status.
In Engagement Studio, select the Send Operational Email action step to
bypass the email marketing opt-in status.
