To give you insight into which emails prospects can receive from Account Engagement, all
prospect records include a mailability section. Prospect mailability depends on a few factors,
including opt-in status and previous email bounces.

A prospect’s mailability status tells you if they can receive operational emails, marketing
emails, or both. A prospect can have these mailability statuses:
Mailable—Eligible for all marketing and operational emails.
Operational Emails Only—Not eligible to receive marketing or promotional emails.
Prospect is in Recycle Bin—Prospect is archived and not eligible to receive any
emails.
Undeliverable—Prospect has five or more soft bounces or one hard bounce and can’t
receive any emails.
Mailability status is determined by the Do Not Email field, the Opted Out field, and previous
email bounces. Mailability fields can be updated manually on the prospect record or via
automation rules, prospect imports, and Engagement Studio programs.
Note Autoresponder emails are considered operational emails. Prospects who are opted out of
marketing communications can still receive autoresponder emails.
This table shows how different prospect scenarios map mailability status.
