Considerations for Using Dynamic Lists
When using dynamic lists, keep these considerations in mind.

- If you use a dynamic list as a recipient list in a scheduled email send, the email is sent to all prospects on the list when the email is sent.
- You can mark a dynamic list as public and display it on your email preference center so that prospects can opt out of the list. Only the prospects who meet the list’s criteria can see the list on the email preference page.
- If you split a dynamic list, the resulting lists are static, but the original dynamic list doesn’t change.
- A dynamic list uses up system resources, so remove the dynamic lists that you don’t need or convert them to static. For best performance, we recommend maintaining no more than 1,000 dynamic lists.
- If you convert a dynamic list to static or split it into two static lists, you can’t restore it to a dynamic list. A static list doesn’t automatically update based on rule criteria.
- When using the account or opportunity rule criteria, the dynamic list matches only those prospects that have an associated opportunity or account. Prospects without an opportunity or account don’t match the list.
- If you move a dynamic list out of the recycle bin, before sending, wait until you receive a confirmation email that the list is restored.
- When a change is made to a Salesforce campaign name or other fields, the dynamic list isn’t recalculated. Prospects that match the dynamic list criteria continue to match until the prospect record is updated.
- When you copy a dynamic list and convert it to a static list, prospects can still be added to or removed from the original dynamic list. The resulting static list can therefore have a different number of prospects than the original dynamic list.
