Copy Account Fields to Contact Fields

Copy Account Fields to Contact Fields

To sync account record fields to Account Engagement, copy the fields to related contacts and trigger a sync.

          Required Editions

          User Permissions Needed
To create custom fields: Customize Application
          1. Open the Object Manager, select Contacts, and then select Fields & Relationships.
          2. Click New.
          3. For the data type, select Formula, and click Next.
          4. Enter a field label.
          5. Select a formula return type that matches the account field type, and click Next.
          6. Click the Advanced Formula tab.
          7. Click Insert Field.
          8. On the Insert Field screen, navigate to Contact | Account, select the field you want to sync, and click Insert.
            Note
Note For picklist fields, add the TEXT function. For example, the picklist field Account.CRM_System__c looks like TEXT(Account.CRM_System__c ).
          9. Click Next.
          10. Set field-level security, and click Next.
          11. Select on which page layouts you want the field to appear.
          12. Save the field.

Updating this field doesn’t trigger a prospect record sync or change the last updated timestamp, because it’s a copy of the account field. Account updates sync as part of a separate process.
